Draft for legal review before public launch. It describes how Marcha works today.
What Marcha is
Marcha is a marketplace where members exchange items with each other, with an optional top-up in pounds to bridge a difference in value. The exchange is an agreement between the two members. Marcha is not a party to it.
What Marcha does not provide
Marcha does not hold your money and does not operate an escrow service. Marcha does not provide couriers, warehousing, insurance, valuations, guarantees or regulated payment protection. Marcha does not guarantee that an item is genuine, accurately described or fit for purpose.
Verification
Verification means the specific check the badge names — an email confirmed, a phone confirmed, an identity check completed, or an item check completed. It is not a promise about a person or an item beyond that check. An unverified member is not necessarily unsafe.
Your listings
Describe items honestly, list only items you own and are allowed to exchange, and use your own photos. Prohibited, unsafe, counterfeit or illegal items are not allowed and may be removed.
Top-up payments
A top-up is the amount the two members agree. It cannot be changed after it has been paid. Where a payment provider is used, that provider processes the payment. Refunds follow the provider's process and any decision recorded by the Marcha team.
Exchanging safely
You decide whether and how to exchange. Meet in a public place, check items before you hand yours over, and never share a home address unless you choose to.
Reports, disputes and account restrictions
You can report a listing, a member or a problem with a Marcha. The Marcha team may review a case, record an outcome, and restrict or suspend an account that breaks these terms. Your history is not deleted when this happens.
Changes
These terms will change before and after launch. We will make the current version available here.
